F.O Friday

For once I have something to share!   I finished up Celtic Myths recently. I’m not sure if I shared pictures but I just had one of it blocking. Last Sunday when we went to Rhys’ Mums the weather was so so nice I took it to get some outside shots. It’s huge! A bit too big to wear this way around I suppose but I still like it. It’s made with the Risby Flock Lincoln Longwool. It’s not the softest wool in the world, but that’s the nature of the sheep breed. It created amazingly crisp and clear cables and will be very warm in the winter. As it’s going to be worn in February this is a bonus. I really need a set of blocking wires. As well as I tried to get the edge non puckered but still smooth and curved it still has small points in places. I’m going to have to invest at some point. I’ll re-block it then and maybe add some conditioner into the wash. I’ve completed the June section of my Christmas Tree skirt as well. Not too much to say on this, it’s coming along. Section 6 of 1

June Mid-Month Round up.

Short and sweet today – Hopefully. Last time I tried to update with Windows Live writer it was having an fight with Google and blogger especially and refusing to post. Another blog I follow posted the other day saying it was working okay so I’m really hoping this works. Live writer has spoiled me, Bloggers method is okay but I really miss Live writer So Mid month goals Socks - The Art of Fugue Started – But I’ve only got just past the rib. Heavily debating if I want to carry on or put them aside and work on them next month instead. Maybe “cheat” this month and knit a short pair of socks. Finish Spinning the Merino and Ply it DONE! I need to get some better pictures but I ended up with about 296 from about 250g of fibre. 12 Zoom Loom Squares 8 Done so far! Finish Cas Dragon Got his head completed, trying to work on a motif or two a day – but failing at that, Complete Set of 5 colours on the blanket - ambitious again but we shall see. Picked it up tonight to work on a little.

Works in Progress 11th June 2015

I've had a pretty one track mind this week Celtic Myths and the never ending edge repeat. I have about 150 rows left to go and so so hope I'll get done by the weekend ready to block on Saturday. We shall see. I'm finishing the second half of Walking Dead season 5 while knitting - I've already worked my way though 2 and a bit seasons of Game of Thrones as well working on this! Last week though I did manage to finish the spinning that was on my wheel. 296 yards - thick and thin, will probably turn into an Age of Brass and Steam at some point. It's an easily modify-able top down pattern so I can use up every last inch. I've been a good girl and put the baby camel back on the wheel! I moved down a whorl to a higher speed and it's been going a lot better. I'm thinking of creating a true 2ply with it from a centre pull ball. I have a lot of fibre left to go though but as long as I do a little every day it should be fine. My plans for the weeken

May wrap up

Time to recap on my May Goals! Spin 50g of fibre – I’ve picked out some 21 micron Merino tops I bought last year from Wingham Wool works at Wonderwool.   Yes! At the end of the month I just had 2 colours left from the 250g bag of fibre. I'm really hoping that this month I'll have a finished plyed yarn to show you guys. I'm planning on N-Plying to keep the colour sequence intact. Knit the next Segment of the Tree skirt. 5/11 – nearly half way done!   Done! I'm so so over this project at the moment. A section a month though keeps it managable I suppose. Socks! Planorbis Corneus is my pattern this month  Done! Loved this pattern - my yarn bled so so much over my hands. Loved this pattern so much I bought the e-book; I'm really looking forward to working the remainder of the patterns as they come up. I found these this morning and Rhys put them through the washing machine. Basically they've felted :( RIP Socks. Most gutting part is I ne
