Introduction

My name is Hannah, I'm 20 years old and I live in Gloucester with my Fiancée (Who'll be known here as DragonBoy) and two crazy ass hamsters.

I suppose primarily I'm an Animal Behaviourist, If I'm not then I've pretty much wasted 3 years of my life and £18,000 on my BSc Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare that hopefully I will be graduating from this summer!

Since all work and no play makes jack a dull boy faceless a dull Girl I have a lot of hobbies.

I knit, I've been knitting for around 3 years now and have made pretty much everything from hats and Scarves to a jumper for myself recently. Current projects include lots and lots of hats for Charity. I hope to have some free patterns available on this blog before too long as well.

I also sew, spin yarn and reclaim yarn from Jumpers and T-Shirts when I have the time. I hope to have a large craft focus in this blog in the future. I'd also *love* to get into dyeing as well and maybe I will soon xD

I'm also interested in keeping fit and I'm trying to loose weight. I'm a very very slow looser, from the start of 2010 I've lost around 20lbs. I still have a long way to go, and I've not really been on plan all of that time either. I'm hoping that a change in my home life, which is occurring practically this week will help me to shed the last 20-40-60-?? that I would like to loose.

Though I don't try and dwell on it I do have a long term condition called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). This condition which is also known in some places as ME or Fibro basically causes large amounts of pain on a daily basis. It's not uncommon for me at the end of a day to just sit and *ache* all over, it also comes with large amounts of joint sensitivity and brain fog in my case. I try to do my best, but if there's posts talking about how I've just slept for 12+ hours don't be alarmed!

I'm also an amateur photographer, with a high focus on animal based work and recording my day to day life. They say a blog is "made" by the pictures that are there so I hope that I can keep it interesting though that!

UFYL Day 3-

Yesterday was a day off because I worked all day. The idea is to get the house to a stage where 20 mins a day in the dedicated room will do it; but we are not yet at that stage so I had a day off. OH did some laundry and attempted to scrub at a mould stain. Today- Bathroom, Spare Room and Cupboard Under the stairs.   Bathroom:   Before So to start off with grout got scrubbed. See the little white patch in the before? That was where I’d attacked it with baking soda about a week ago. As a result the bathroom was clean-ish but horribly cluttered. I got rid of any bottles that we didn’t use anymore, any face cloths that were damaged because they hadn’t been washed in a while (Note to self, next paycheck buy new ones- Ebay?) and just generally sorted. All surfaces got wiped down including the outside of the toilet bowl, the stem of the sink, the pipes behind the loo, the outside of the bath and the skirting boards. Emptied the bin, removed that POS “organiser” from a...

Staycation

Hello all! I’ve had a very busy weekend with my parents being down. While waiting for them to come down I got another 4 squares done on my sock yarn blanket. The left two are from a special mini skein I was given several years ago. I’m not entirely sure when I got given it, but it was a very small skein, probably under 20 yards. Just right to add into my blanket and serve as a reminder though! Saturday we went to Dyffryn gardens – A national trust property that they’re working on restoring. None of us are gardeners, but there was such a lovely selection – In the summer I’ll borrow more photos off my mum’s camera as I thought I’d forgotten mine for the start. Rhys was very enamoured by the cactus room. Sunday we were up and off an on. We went on some Segway’s at Chepstow diving centre, as we booked so late 9am was the only time slot, which was nice as we got to have the rest of the day to ourselves. Poor Mum fell off at the last bit (she’d misjud...

Corwin

I was hoping I wouldn’t have to write this post for a while. I’d hoped at least not this side of Christmas; but he had other plans. Last Thursday Rhys came home from work to find him laid up in the cage, dehydrated and not interested in moving. Rhys tried tempting him with Peanut butter and he turned his nose up a it. Corwin… not accepting food meant it was a bad sign. A few weeks ago he’d started to loose movement in his hind quarters – as can happen in old rats. He was still moving around reasonably well; eating, drinking and snuggling and we agreed to take each day as it came. We took him to the vets that evening, and all agreed that the best thing to do for him was to let him go easily, peacefully and quietly in his sleep. Corwin came to us from SPA Vets in Gloucester. This was our vets before we moved to Newport and one I would heartily recommend to anyone in the area. He’d wandered in through someone’s cat flap and realising (thank goodness!) that he was...
