Weight loss and Photographs

Last year I managed to loose 20lbs.

During January I kind of maintained a state of well, for want of a better word stasis. I'm still the same weight I was at the start of the year. This is *my* fault, and I'm starting February by trying to loose more weight.

My plan is simple. Exercise, eat well and make sure I take my tablets. I track calories on Spark People currently though I might be looking for a change soon.

I've bought a couple of new things today that should help us out.

This is a Zyliss hand held chopper.
Please excuse my messy side table. I'm in the process of tidying up, I promise! You pop what you want to chop in the bottom, press the handle down 2 or 3 times and voila, chopped veggies with very little hassle. I've got some Passion Fruit, Mango, Dragon Fruit and a Pomegranate sat in the fridge, the makings of a very nice fruit salad to take with me for snacks while I'm at Uni. This is after the choppers had it's first practice run with tea tonight, Chicken, Bacon and Mushroom Pasta, with the chicken and Mushrooms cooked on my brand new Griddle pan, Yummy! I hope to post some recipes here in the future too.
My new toy arrived in the post today! It's a Panasonic Lumix TZ-10 camera; I got 2 extra batteries to extend the life and a case to keep it nice and snug as my last camera had a problem with a line of dead pixels down the middle of the screen where it was dropped by an ex-flatmate.
I love it already. These are just a few shots I took while walking around Gloucester today. I've still got a few videos to watch with regards to how to work the manual modes on the camera but I hope to be showing a lot more photography work soon, and potentially a review of the camera. How useful that will be on a year old model is another question!

Next time I'll also have some knitting work to show as I finished the boyfriends socks! I currently have nothing on the needles which is a different approach for me. Must find something to cast on as soon as possible!

UFYL Day 3-

Yesterday was a day off because I worked all day. The idea is to get the house to a stage where 20 mins a day in the dedicated room will do it; but we are not yet at that stage so I had a day off. OH did some laundry and attempted to scrub at a mould stain. Today- Bathroom, Spare Room and Cupboard Under the stairs.   Bathroom:   Before So to start off with grout got scrubbed. See the little white patch in the before? That was where I’d attacked it with baking soda about a week ago. As a result the bathroom was clean-ish but horribly cluttered. I got rid of any bottles that we didn’t use anymore, any face cloths that were damaged because they hadn’t been washed in a while (Note to self, next paycheck buy new ones- Ebay?) and just generally sorted. All surfaces got wiped down including the outside of the toilet bowl, the stem of the sink, the pipes behind the loo, the outside of the bath and the skirting boards. Emptied the bin, removed that POS “organiser” from around the stem

2016 Round Up!

So a bit late, but better late then never for a round up! 2016 has been a year; there's been a few diamonds in the rough and a few wonderful people who've gotten me through but overall wowza, what a year. Sad week

We’re not having a very good week here in Gloucester. Sunday I was poorly and had to phone into work sick (I’m much better now) and then on Monday we had to have our oldest hamster put to sleep.  He’d been going downhill for the last few days, and when I got home from work on Monday, it wasn’t good, so the kindest thing to do was take him and have him humanely put to sleep, it would only have been a few hours if we’d have left him naturally anyway- best to put him out of his suffering. So then the next day we went back with Rommie the rat. She’s been having real trouble with balance, and she’s got so skinny even though she’s eating. The vet thinks she’s blind, and that it may be a brain tumour or an abscess on her brain. The only way to tell would be an MRI, and the best that could tell us is that there was something there; with a cat or dog there would be options but she’s a small animal and she’s old- Plus at the moment I wouldn’t be convinced that she’d make it through the anaes
